Attune’s stakeholders engagement efforts successful for ensuring protecting the rights of indigenous peoples according to the Worldbank, July 2013
After two unsuccessful attempts to engage indigenous and maroon peoples in the REDD+ preparation (2009, 2010), Attune designed an innovative methodology to fully inform these groups and collaborative plan with the Government, public and private sector for implementing REDD+ in Suriname. Attune’s facilitation of the eight-month process was crucial for creating trust and respect between all groups and move forward in preparation of the REDD+ readiness proposal.
